Limits like fears are often just an illusion. - Michael Jordan
You don’t have to be the smartest or most talented guy to achieve your goals.
The wall that separates you and your goals is called your mind.
Have you ever thought that:
“I have no idea how I am going to succeed in this world full of competition”
“How can I succeed if I’m not special and I don’t have any strengths?”
“How do people become so incredibly successful? Is that even possible for an ordinary person like me?”
I can assure you than you can succeed. The way you can succeed is through limitless mind. Based on the name you already have initial idea of the power that it possesses.
Let me show you the ways of a limitless mind.
Limitless mind is a psychological state that allows to push through any barrier in life. It’s based on eliminating negative thinking and staying consistent with your tasks.
In other words, limitless mind is a whole different perception of life. It’s a state of mind which only the most successful people possess.
Limitless mind works around roadblocks, no matter how exceptional your goal is. It must go in parallel with a very strategic and precise planning.
Limitless mindset empowers you to narrow down to your goal and eliminate the distractions in your path. By having a tunnel vision, you’ll be able to successfully achieve anything you want in life.
Here are 7 common characteristics of people that have limitless mind:
Either push your limits or suffocate in your comfort zone. - Arun Purang
Acquiring valuable experience is quite easy.
Instead of ignoring your mistakes, take advantage and analyze them.
What I mean is that you shouldn’t just pick a mistake and analyze it only on the surface: “I failed my exam. I guess I’ll have to study harder!”. Instead, dig deeper:
Of course, it’s the best practice to learn from others’ mistakes. You should do that if there’s a possibility.
Limitless mind is narrow to its goal, but learning experience is acquired from broad sources to gain different perspectives to obtain more advantageous leverage.
During the halfway of achieving success people often quit. After seeing no results, they would rather get back into their normal living lifestyle than being disappointed in themselves.
You must remember what the reason was before you started.
If your reason for starting a goal is not strong enough and it takes a long time period to achieve, it’s very likely that 95% of people will quit before seeing initial results.
If, for example, you begin losing weight just to prove someone that you’ll lose weight, that’s a weak reason to begin with. Initially, you might be motivated and full of determination within the first month. You’ll feel like you have the power of limitless mind. After that, it all vanishes into the air.
It’s not always necessary, but do you have an idea what helps people the best to stick to their goals?
Pain.
You’ll never try as hard to maintain a relationship when you’ll get threatened to break-up.
You’ll never start a business if you’ll be comfortable with your working hours, salary, and freedom.
You’ll never understand how life and relationships valuable are until you lose your family member.
These examples are crystal clear that you’ll have to feel pain in order to put your 120% of effort. But why should you wait? Create a strong reason that would drive you to achieving your goal already.
The only limit to your impact is your imagination and commitment. - Tony Robbins
So, if you want to lose weight, you have to instead think about your health and not about looking prettier (which is of course a bonus). You have to think about medical bills, longevity, feeling great waking up every day, being able to spend happy time outdoors with your loved ones, and similar things.
Create a strong reason and you’ll be able to achieve anything you want in life.
If you can master utilizing happiness to help you in achieving success, you can increase the efficiency and productivity by 20-30%.
A lot of people believe that you can be truly happy once you achieve your goal. This is a false perception and works against you.
Instead, you must not to forget live in the present and enjoy the process.
Here you can watch an engaging video how happiness can help you achieving your goals and what impact it has in your life:
You can achieve big dreams and goals only if the process gives you satisfaction and you don’t mind working for it. Otherwise, the flame within your heart will die out and you’ll be left with emptiness.
According to psychologist Shawn Achor, you need to practice these activities every day to rewire your mindset and switch from negative thinking to happy thinking:
Being focused on your goal is great. However, it’s important to keep balance not to be left burnt out.
To achieve the peak of being limitless, you’ll have to find time for your hobbies, family, and yourself.
There are many stories where people who worked very hard were left and had no relationships. They had no one to share their happiness with. They’ve achieved their life dream, but they also sacrificed a lot which made them rethink their life values.
Therefore, a person that possesses limitless mind has to multitask with mindfulness. You have to be cautious of the environment and how it’s changing. You have to adapt to your best ability.
Consequently, you must shift your focus from your dream sometimes. Don’t let it to control your life. If your dream requires 10 years to achieve it, you can’t spend all those years only on one goal. There are a few reasons:
Shifting your mind just for 1-2 hours per day might be enough to fulfill the balance. If needed, take more hours. Adjust to your own pace and needs.
You only know yourself when you go beyond your limits. - Paulo Coelho
The quote above is more expressive than a thousand words.
That’s a heavy statement, but it’s mostly true. Your friends are 100% your choice and is something that you can control. It’s a reflection of your character and identity.
Although, there are a few exceptions if you meet very rarely, less than a few times a year. That little time spent together might not influence your own personality.
The most important people for your character development are your significant other and other people that you spend a lot of time with.
I’d highly suggest joining a group of people that are interested in same goal as you are. If you are very interested in learning a guitar, find a beginners group where you can share your experiences, thoughts, obstacles, how to overcome them, and similar.
Experiencing journey with people that have similar goals makes you progress much, much faster.
To be fair, the fastest and the most effective way to achieve your goal is to find a mentor. You need to find a person that has already gone through all the obstacles and can share his experience with you.
Embrace the power of innovative thinking.
The problem is that majority of people are stuck with stereotypes and traditional way of thinking.
If your goal is to achieve $1,000,000 net earnings per year, it will be very hard to do that with the traditional approach, such as establishing cafes, restaurants, local small niche shops, or even having a regular 9-5 job.
It’s unlikely that you will be able to achieve such goal without having a great plan.
Instead, you should adopt an engineering mindset and approach the problem from the backwards.
You must analyze such things for your business:
In other words, sometimes you have to think like a customer instead of a business owner. You have to provide value for a customer and satisfy the market needs.
A lot of businesses fail just because the business owners believe that their idea is great. However, it’s never been justified in the real market and therefore the entity goes out of business.
This is just a quick example how innovative and engineering thinking looks like.
This example is applicable to every situation of your life: relationships, fixing a car, buying your first rental property, finding happiness, etc.
Limitless mind is an animal that you have to tame. To achieve anything you want in life, you’ll have to put in the effort.
Believing that you can develop strengths and build knowledge is a very big part of limitless mindset concept.
Such people are more likely to achieve whatever they pursue. They are narrowing their sight straight to their goal and are willing to learn from everyone they can.
This is where fixed mindset kicks in. People that don’t bother to learn anything, they usually tend to find other ways around it. They try to cheat, ruin their reputation as a result, and enjoy temporary glory time.
The fears we don’t face don’t become our limits. - Robin Sharma
That kind of approach is toxic and don’t benefit you at all.
On the other hand, growth mindset focuses on “organic” ways to gain leverage. In other words, growth mindset is a long-term strategy to success which is maintainable and respectable.
That’s how the most successful people think. They find ways to make a productive effort and add value to other people.
Also, take your time to listen to this superb Ted talk by Stephen Duneier. He explains how to achieve your most ambitious goals:
The last set of tools which you need to experience being limitless are time management and perseverance.
To put it briefly It’s an essential skill to learn if you want to achieve anything you want in life. Managing your time lets you to:
Time management is beneficial in every area of your life. It makes you more cautious where you should spend your time, what tasks to execute first, when are the deadlines, and similar.
You should plan your time daily and weekly. Your daily goals should add up to your weekly goals. For example, if you want to write a small 20 pages book in a week, then divide those pages in 7, 6, or 5 days.
Therefore, if you wanted to write a book in 5 days, you need to write at least 4 pages a day.
This is a very brief example and it’s only for you to grasp the basics of time management. To be fair, time management topic can be extended to fairly complex structures.
In general, time management lets us to put things and priorities in a perspective. It lets us visualize better our tasks and time that we have to accomplish them.
Argue for your limitations and sure enough, they’re yours. - Richard Bach
Finally, nothing could be done without perseverance. As much as we might enjoy our schedule, goal process, work environment, we still have to be persevered and be strict about it. You must always complete your goals for the day, because otherwise all the schedule crumbles.
Consequently, you’ll feel disappointed in yourself and you won’t be able to catch up on your schedule. Therefore, it’s crucial to foresee the obstacles throughout the day and make realistic tasks.
Don’t worry for now and don’t be overwhelmed about all the steps you have to deal with in order to have a limitless mindset.
The most important thing is to stay determined and be happy whatever you are doing. Be joyful about the process which you are tackling with. If you find happiness in your activity, you’ll be able to achieve anything you want in your life.
Try to improve your strategy and approach your goal little by little. Perhaps in the first week you should be analyzing your mistakes, the second week you should start incorporating time management, and continue from there on.
Make sure not to take too many goals. Preferably, stick to one or two.
Life is not a competition. Find your own pace and flow with it.
