live an abundant life
When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears. ~ Tony Robbins

Have you ever been disappointed in your life?

Have you ever thought what is missing to reach your full potential?

The answer to all your questions is life of abundance.

An abundant life is freedom to your mind and body. Living such lifestyle helps you to reach your full potential. It doesn’t matter in what part of the world you live, how well you did in school, work, or anywhere else.

The biggest enemies in our lives are ourselves. Our limiting beliefs stop us from achieving our desires and goals.

Everyone can live an abundant life and enjoy being happy despite your financial situation. Essentially, happiness should be everyone’s goal and final destination in life.

What does abundant life mean?

Abundant life means living in a fulfillment of your needs. Fulfillment creates a state of contentment and makes you satisfied with everything you have.

Once you develop a state of abundance, you become free and can live happily while pursuing your dreams. It’s very important to understand that happiness comes not from achieving goals, but from living in the current moment.

10 Examples of abundance in life

Here are 10 examples of abundance in life that can help you to understand the concept of abundance better:

  1. Appreciating everything you have.
  2. Not living in a world of resentment and negativity.
  3. Living in the moment and experiencing flow of positive energy.
  4. Understanding that your mindset is responsible for your happiness.
  5. Nourishing and enhancing relationships.
  6. You approach everyone with positive intentions.
  7. Believing that everyone can be abundant of basic needs.
  8. You live life mindfully and you’re honest with yourself.
  9. Living happily despite not achieving your goals, desires.
  10. Your mind is at peace and harmony.

There are a lot more things that abundance living offers. It’s a lifestyle that creates a positivity barrier from negative environmental forces that we face daily.

How to live an abundant life?

Living an abundant life starts from your mind understanding that you already have everything to be happy. The more you believe that you will become happy only when you will achieve the goals, the more you put yourself further away from life of abundance.

The last statement might sound weird that achieving goals don’t make you fulfilled.

Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune into. ~ Wayne Dyer

However, think about this: do you really need to buy that luxurious car to be happy? Do you absolutely need the biggest house to be contented? Do you need everyone to worship you to be delighted?

If your answer is yes to those questions, then you are not living life of abundance yet. You also need to assess if either that always was your initial goal in life or are those beliefs formed by societal standards?

Being successful by current societal norms will never bring you abundance feeling. Social norms shape your preferences and individual needs. Our mind is unconsciously developing and adjusting to the societal standards from our early childhood.

The more you adapt to societal standards, the more you detach from your identity. This results in unfulfillment and losing yourself in the process.

So, to live an abundant life, you have to get back to your authenticity. If you follow your authentic behavior, you will live an abundant life and be happy.

5 benefits of abundant life

Here are 5 benefits of abundant life:

  1. You become your true self.
  2. You follow your authentic passions.

You will surely find more benefits along the way. I can’t emphasize living a life of abundance enough. It will relieve the built-up stress, make you happy, and let you find your own authentic calling in life.

That’s everything that a person needs in his life.

20 Ways to live an abundant life

1. Manage your time

Distractions are everywhere and it’s easy to get lost in the loop of interferences.

Time management can help you knock out your most important tasks for the day. Not only that, but it helps you to track your time, productivity levels, and much more.

live an abundant life

Here are a few more benefits that you can take advantage of:

  • Preventing procrastination.
  • Defining your tasks and goals better.
  • Breaking down tasks into smaller chunks.
  • Relieving stress.
  • Getting more done in less time.

One of the secrets of managing time even better is waking up early. Early risers are secretly exploiting the advantages of head start of the day.

Getting up early can help you greatly improve your mood and get even more things done. It improves your mental clarity, sleep quality, you get time to work-out and reflect the day that is in front of you.

One of the loveliest perks of waking up early is the advantage of peaceful mornings. Reflecting the dew on grass, enjoying your time to yourself, and seeing empty streets bring relief for the mind.

2. Don’t chase happiness

Everyone chases happiness. Whether that is in the form of money, relationships, or personal goals, every person seems obsessed with it.

One of the things which is heavily overlooked is that people don’t enjoy the process. Instead, they believe that happiness can be only achieved after accomplishing a certain goal or by experiencing something more unusual.

If you want love and abundance in your life, give it away. ~ Mark Twain

Whenever a person achieves a goal, he temporarily feels a burst of happiness. However, what happens next is very interesting.

After accomplishing a goal, a bigger goal is set. Then the hamster wheel procedure begins once again. People keep on chasing their objectives and almost never be happy.

The secret to happiness is not to chase it.

The ultimate secret to happiness is to let it come inside you. You need to live in the present and enjoy whatever you’re doing. Whether it’s smelling a plant, enjoying the taste of food, unleashing your creativity by writing to a diary, or anything else.

The moment you will learn to live in the present, your life will flip upside down and you will embrace a life of abundance.

3. Face the risks

One of the main factors that don’t let people live peacefully are their fears. The fear of unknown comes from fear of change. Not knowing how to control a situation doesn’t allow people to have peace of mind.

An abundant life has to have a little bit of everything. While it may be comfortable to stay in your cozy place, but it doesn’t broaden your mind and limit your full potential.

live an abundant life

For example, if you always wanted to learn to play a piano but are afraid to dedicate time to it, you’ll have from time to time a thought “what if I tried?

Perhaps your fear is to start a business and you really want to escape the usual 9-5 routine.

The best way to face the risk is to be knowledgeable about it. The more you know about it, the more you can control it.

However, sometimes knowledge is not enough and you must jump into the unknown and start something new, for example, a new business.

While abundant life can be achieved without facing risks and fears, but it’s more fulfilling to follow your unrevealed passions that are still a mystery for you.

4. Take responsibility

Taking full accountability for your happiness is truly a courageous thing to do. The sooner you will detach from believing that your happiness depends not only on environment but also on you, the faster you will feel fulfillment.

Taking responsibility leads you to self-growth and control of your own life.

Instead of blaming the environment not being favorable to your side, you can start building your own personal blocks of independence and shape your life the way you want.

Sometimes it can be overwhelming being on your own. Sometimes it can be frightening to make your own decisions. Nevertheless, the moment you start accepting your own mistakes and learning from it, you will become much better version of yourself.

5. Love yourself first

Before trying to love someone else, you should cope with yourself first. However, it shouldn’t be a barrier not to love someone.

The main idea is to learn accept yourself so that you wouldn’t become a roadblock in a relationship. If you can’t love yourself, you will always feel not worthy of love, you will have self-image issues which will damage your relationship.

Doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life. ~ Wayne Dyer

It will become more of a one-sided relationship because most of the focus will be spent on you. It will leave the other person burnt out and unsatisfied.

There might be days when you will feel unsatisfied with yourself which is completely normal. As long as this destructive self-image problem doesn’t overtake your life, you will be eligible to enter a relationship and live an abundant life.

It’s important to note that some people choose to spend their lives on their own, which is completely fine. Remember to live by your own means and standards and not by societal ones. Though, don’t forget to pour some love to yourself.

6. Don’t compare yourself with others

Comparing yourself with others can be a great tool to improve on yourself.

While comparison is important to reflect on yourself, comparison often becomes too extreme and unhealthy. You might start feeling resentment, envy, and disappointment in yourself.

Constant comparison yourself through social media or with peers might leave you discouraged and emotionally drained. Though, be aware that everyone has different life goals and expectations. You need to find what you’re interested in and what you value.

live an abundant life

The best way to approach this problem is to find only one or two idols that share the same values as you do. Try to seek the heights which have already been achieved by your heroes.

For your peace of mind, it’s even better if you only do comparisons with yourself and try to become a better version than yesterday. It’s completely fine to regularly reflect on your progress and compare yourself with your idol.

Life of abundance is all about the fulfillment with who you are and what you have. Follow your own pace and enjoy your journey in life.

7. Don’t hold resentment

Holding a resentment is harmful to you. Holding a grudge against other people makes you live in the past and causes you to stress about it.

Ultimately, feeling angry or upset will only strengthen the effect of a negative feeling and make you even more miserable. That may leave an emotional scar for you, worsen your well-being.

Your fortune is not something to find but to unfold. ~ Eric Butterworth

To solve resentment issue, you should consider:

  • Talk with someone you trust.
  • Forget the past and live in the present.
  • Think of what you could’ve done better in that situation.
  • Close the resentment by implementing a solution plan (e.g. ending a relationship)
  • Setting limits and boundaries of a grudge.

The idea of grudge is backstabbing us. While in some scenarios it might make us feel better, but generally it only hurts us and doesn’t do anything positive.

8. Live mindfully

Mindfulness is all about being aware of the present moment. The benefit of this approach to life is that you enjoy every moment and don’t let it go to waste.

Mindfulness can be achieved with very minimal amount of effort. It doesn’t need to be something extravaganza.

live an abundant life

Here’s how you can bring more mindfulness into your life:

  • Look outside your window.
  • Accept things how they are.
  • Do acts of kindness.
  • Observe the nature.
  • Smell the food, plants.
  • Do meditating.

There are plenty of ways how to experience mindful living. Incorporating mindfulness in an abundant life will make you appreciate little things more, relieve stress, increase your focus, alleviate memory.

9. Don’t overthink

Thoughts are power.

The more you think of a certain result of a situation, the more likely it will become a reality.

The problem is that people usually think about negative thoughts and outcomes which attracts negative mindset. That results in an unfulfilled life which doesn’t reflect the main idea of an abundant life.

Overthinking is a pattern of a human behavior. Patterns need to be broken to release yourself from this cycle of self-destruction.

When you undervalue who you are, the world will undervalue what you do and vice versa. ~ Suze Orman

Speaking of patterns, you will notice that some solutions to overthinking were already have been discussed:

  • Live in the present.
  • Be self-responsible for your own actions.
  • Identify where overthinking comes from.
  • Be more knowledgeable about the situation (learn facts).
  • Think what can go right instead of what can go wrong.

Overthinking makes your mind go from clear to cloudy just like the sky. You have to penetrate through overthinking with positive thoughts, just like the Sun does through the clouds. The less negative thoughts you’ll have, the more abundance you will embrace.

10. Worry less, do more

Worrying keeps people awake not only at night, but also during the daytime. We can’t seem to find peace of mind and worries can’t leave our head.

Worrying becomes an obsessive habit that has to be unlearned. While worrying has some benefits, but mostly it brings only negative feelings.

living an abundant life

Our minds usually play tricks on us and we tend to exaggerate the situation. The more creative your mind is, the more worry becomes a fiction.

Instead of worrying, take some actions to fight against it. Start questioning if that worry is actually valid. What impact does it have on your actual life? Is there something you can do about it?

Abundance life doesn’t necessarily mean a stress-free life. However, to enhance the effect of living in abundance, worrying less can benefit you dramatically in feeling happier.

11. Open your mind

Being open minded lets you to feel the flow of a variety of ideas that you’ve never thought of. This approach is considered to be positive because it allows you to think more critically and reasonably.

True abundance isn’t based on our net worth, it’s based on our self-worth. ~ Gabrielle Bernstein

Because of your open mind, you will become abundant of new powerful benefits, such as:

  • Learn more new things.
  • Feel more empowered.
  • Become more insightful.
  • Experience new practices.
  • Become more optimistic.

To open your mind you need to shift from scarcity mindset and existing beliefs. You have to challenge your existing ideas by with the aid of facts. There’s nothing stronger (knowledge wise) than real data and statistics.

12. Give up your ego

Ego is very fragile. People protect it like their biggest possession.

However, ego is the source of anxiety and worry. What will others think of me? I can’t look silly in front of the others.

Ego worries about the future. But there’s one interesting fact: future only exists in our mind.

living in abundance

The sooner you will be able to accept your imperfections, the faster you’ll embrace the life of abundance. Well, perhaps you’re aware of your flaws, but you don’t want others to see them.

The thing is that unless you are a public figure, almost no one cares how will you look in front of others. What makes you interesting is your authenticity and not your ‘perfect image’.

Therefore, you have to accept your mistakes and live up with them. Ask for help and don’t be afraid to fail.

13. Practice gratitude

Gratitude is linked as a source of greater happiness. It makes you focus on what you have instead of what you don’t have.

Focusing on what you don’t have is the main element of unhappiness. That’s why gratitude has the power to heal and fulfill your life.

If you develop an image of success, health, abundance, joy, peace, happiness, nothing on earth will be able to hold those things from you. ~ Joel Osteen

Gratitude helps:

  • To focus on simple things and be grateful for them.
  • Feel positive emotions.
  • Relive positive experiences.
  • Build relationships.
  • Improve overall well-being.

You can start being grateful even from this very moment. Remember the happy moments of your life and don’t be afraid to smile. Be grateful for the home, food, clothes you have.

You can also use a gratitude journal which would help you to be more consistent practicing gratitude. Write at least one thing per day that you feel grateful for.

It will make you more peaceful with your mind and the environment that surrounds you.

14. Manifest for happiness

Manifesting has to be done very precisely. Not only you have to focus your mind on one specific goal, but you also have to sincerely believe it.

When do you feel more empowered: when you take an exam full of confidence, or full of doubts? Most likely you’ll feel way better when you’re confident in your strengths. That’s the power of believing and having faith.

living a life of abundance

Manifesting works similarly. The more you believe in your goal, the more likely it is to come true. Manifestation helps you to visualize living in abundance better and understand what you want from it.

A good house needs solid foundation. Manifestation is the starting brick for your foundation to live an abundant life. It will help you to achieve anything you want because abundance ideology doesn’t limit itself in a cage.

15. Adopt limitless mind

Limitless mind a powerful tool that has to be tamed very carefully. It can open new waters and help you explore your strengths that you weren’t aware of.

Limitless mind already says a lot about itself – there are no limits to anything. The most important ingredient of this mind is perseverance.

If you can combine an abundant life and limitless mind in one pot, I can guarantee that you’ll experience things that you never thought you could feel and achieve.

16. Work on your social skills

Social skills are gateway to relationships. As you may know, relationships are inseparable from living an abundant life.

If there was only one thing that I’d recommend you working on social skills wise, that would be listening. Too many people forget that listening is essentially more than just listening.

Plant seeds of happiness, hope, success, and love; it will all come back to you in abundance. This is the law of nature. ~ Steve Maraboli

People listen to reply and not to understand. That leads to misunderstanding other people and make relationships more complicated.

That’s why it’s very important to work on essential communication skills. Communication is key to enter hearts of people.

17. Cultivate a positive environment

Having friends is only one side of the medal which might not be sufficient. I’ve had negative friends for a short period in my life and trust me – it’s better to have no friends. Negative environment drains your physical and mental energy and you feel very uncomfortable in general.

It’s also important to understand that if your friends are making dramas over nothing, it’s time to keep a bigger distance from those relationships. Unfortunately, there’s very little you can do and investing your emotional energy into such mess is not a very good idea.

living a life of abundance

On the other hand, if your friends are suffering from anxiety, depression, or anything similar, all you can do is to be supportive and empower your friends. Though, set boundaries how much time you can spend with them. Your emotional health is still the most important.

All negative things aside, that’s why it’s crucial to have a positive environment. Instead of someone draining your energy, you can charge your energy together in a positive atmosphere.

You can find such people through:

  • Classes.
  • Meetups.
  • Travelling
  • Volunteering
  • Sports groups.
  • Having a pet.

It’s very easy to strike a conversation when you have a pet. You’re more likely to get approached by people.

Having positive friends will make you feel burst of happiness around them. It will make you feel alive and you will move one more step towards living an abundant life.

18. Be consistent

Rather than pushing through life with your willpower, you should be consistent. You should rarely ever use willpower. If you need to utilize it, that means you’re not enjoying your activity even the slightest.

Find a way how to stick to your abundant life with consistency. It helps you build momentum to maintain your long-term vision. Remember that you can achieve the same goal with a lot of different tools and methods.

Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground. ~ Theodore Roosevelt

It’s better to practice playing a musical instrument for 15 minutes a day than 3 hours for one day each week. Perhaps after one month, you might be playing 20 minutes a day instead of 15.

You should approach your life similarly. If you started living more mindfully, expose yourself to mindful activities for 5-10 minutes a day. Gradually you will notice significant improvements in your mood, energy, and happiness levels.

Consistent activities become habits and they rather become fun pursuits.

Forget the willpower. Be consistent instead.

19. Focus on one goal at a time

People love to write down a huge list of to-do things for their New Year resolutions. Unfortunately, there are two problems with their goals: the objectives don’t reflect their personality and there are just way too many of goals.

First, you must make sure that the goal you’ve set reflects your values and you are ready to work for it consistently. If you don’t know what hard work is, you will never be able to establish a successful, at least medium-scale business. That’s a bad goal to set for such personality.

living a life of abundance

More appropriate goal in such scenario would be to find a better paid job with the same amount of work as you do now.

Secondly, stick to one goal or maximum of two only. To live an abundant life means that you have plenty of time to fulfill your dreams and desires.

Besides, a person can’t shoot three targets with a single arrow, unless they’re in the same line. Nevertheless, having too many goals is too distracting and you might disappoint yourself for not fulfilling your set ambitions.

I must make it clear that having one goal is not an outlook of an underachiever. It’s the opposite – a person must know his limits of focus to achieve the best results whatever he pursues.

Here’s a very similar perspective on achieving goals which is resumed in one video:

20. Be open for criticism

Criticism is essential to become more abundant of new ideas and your mistakes. It makes you more insightful of opportunities around you.

However, be aware that there are many types of criticisms, such as destructive, negative, constructive, and others. Some types of criticisms are inappropriate and it signals to get yourself out of that place.

If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door. ~ Kurt Cobain

For example, negative and destructive criticisms have a negative toll on your self-confidence. The main idea of these two types of criticisms from self-development point of view are also wrong. They don’t encourage a person to improve himself.

On the other hand, constructive criticism is good for you and it only helps you to become more aware what you can be capable of. This type of criticism is supported by facts, clearance, and is specific.

So, whenever criticism looks irrational and offensive, you shouldn’t take it into your mind. If the criticism is logical and makes sense, then don’t hesitate and accept it to self-improve.

Final Words From Delightful Mindset

Abundance can be brought to life through a lot of different ways. Everyone can live an abundant life despite the current financial situation.

The key takeaway is that you have to be grateful for what you have and focus on what you need and not on what you want. It’s important to have an open mind to world that surrounds you.

Your life doesn’t end only within your mind. The world has to offer incredible number of opportunities for you to live abundantly.

Be open to the world and all gates to your desires will be accessible for you to enter.
